Who is Donte Bouyer
Donte Bouyer is an Award winning Director based out of New York. He’s Directed music videos, commercials, and short films throughout the last 10 years.
As a young boy Donte would sit in front of the T.V. and re-imagine everything he saw on the screen with action figures and loud sound effects. It wasn’t until he watched his first behind-the-scenes featurette that he discovered directing was the path for him.
Growing up in the inner city of Boston, Massachusetts there were very few opportunities for independent filmmakers. In 2013 Donte bought his first camera and opened a small production company called Mighty Productions after is brother passed away. He started shooting music videos for local artists in his neighborhood and realized that if he was going to chase his love for filmmaking, he would need to create a new path for himself.
In 2016, Donte moved to New York and started working as a Production Assistant in film and TV. over the past seven years he has worked on a collection of projects from low-budget independent features to commercials, music videos, television shows, and big budget titles.
In 2019, he joined the Directors Guild of America. Now he primarily works as a 2nd Assistant Director on film & tv sets across the country. Still chasing his love for filmmaking, Donte has since Directed three short films: Freeloaders, Why Tomorrow Never Comes and the Award-winning Pandora. Donte is currently working on two feature films, one of which is in development and the other is in production.
Donte aspires to direct narrative work full time. He also hopes to start a non-profit aimed at opening new doors for the inner-city kids across the country who are interested in learning filmmaking.
